The best quickest way to fix it is just check the mail language and try with the options:

Fix invalid subtitle file in Windows<\/h1>\n\n\n\n

Whenever you download a subtitle file that wasn\u2019t created in Windows, you could have problems editing or opening this file in subtitle editors such as DivXLand Media Subtitler<\/a> or plain text editors like Notepad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This error is mostly caused by the infamous newline character<\/a> incompatibilty between Windows, Unix and MacOS platforms. Each platform uses its own newline character(s) method, succeeding in creating endless incompatibilities when moving files between these systems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fixing an incompatible subtitle file<\/h1>\n\n\n\n

The solution to open broken subtitle files in Media Subtitler and other editors is to convert the newline characters<\/strong> from this file to standard Windows line feeds using Notepad++<\/a> as follows:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Open the subtitle file with\u00a0Notepad++<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. From the\u00a0Edit<\/strong>\u00a0menu, select\u00a0EOL Conversion > Windows (CR LF)<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Save the file from the\u00a0File > Save<\/strong>\u00a0menu.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. You should now be able to open this file correctly with DivXLand Media Subtitler.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    Fix broken characters from Unicode \/ UTF-8 subtitle file<\/h1>\n\n\n\n

    When trying to open non-Western European subtitle files in DivXLand Media Subtitler, some characters may appear garbled due to the source file\u2019s encoding.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    To open non Western European subtitle files properly, you must convert them from Unicode or UTF-8 to ANSI<\/strong> first. This can be done from Notepad++<\/a> as follows:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    1. Open the subtitle file with\u00a0Notepad++<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    2. From the\u00a0Encoding<\/strong>\u00a0menu, select\u00a0Convert to ANSI<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    3. Save the file from the\u00a0File > Save<\/strong>\u00a0menu.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    4. Open the file with DivXLand Media Subtitler and it should be displayed correctly.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

      Your subtitle file must be in the same language<\/strong> as the Language for Non-Unicode Programs<\/a> set by Windows, otherwise the ANSI<\/strong> conversion will fail. ANSI text will only be displayed correctly as long as the language of its contents matches the previous setting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
